Fly me to the Moon

Ultimate Frisbee Mixed Tournament - 15, 16, 17 August 2025

Three reasons why you should attend Fly Me to the Moon tournament

Held for the first time in August 2019 and building on its success, we decided to re-edit the tournament end of July 2020. The venue, the river, the castle, the “Fly Me” village and its hippie-hipster atmosphere… So many memories that we get to live again this year !

If you were not with us last year, here are three reasons why you should register, you and your team, to the 2020 edition.

  1. This year, it’s WUGC year

Taking place from 11 to 18 July in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, the WUGC are only a couple of weeks before the Fly Me tournament (from 24 to 26 July).

If you attend WUGC 2020 as a player or non-player, the Fly Me tournament is the perfect stop to take some rest and play some mixed ultimate without the pressure that a Worlds Championships might put on a player’s shoulders. The Fly Me tournament is to WUGC the kind of thing the after-party is to a party…

It’s WUGC’s after-tournament ;-)

For many of you going to Leeuwarden, you will be visiting Europe after Worlds. Why not stopping by the Belgian Ardennes, one of the most beautiful regions our country has to offer?

Leeuwarden and Bouillon are only 500 km away from each other!

2. The venue, the vibe

The “Fly Me” venue has one of the most beautiful set up you could wish for.

Everything is located in one place. The fields are close to each other, there is a river you can swim in, a medieval castle to visit, a dedicated players “village”, the camping is close but far enough to not being disturbed by the noise of the party… It’s the bomb.

Check out the gallery below to give you a hint of the atmosphere and the venue !

3. The perfect preparation for EUCS

The mixed division became the “main” division in ultimate over the past years.

However, there are still very few high level international tournaments over the summer, to prepare for EUCR and EUCF, and fully dedicated to mixed.

While the mixed division stayed at 12 teams for next year’s EUCFs, we believe the mixed division should benefit for more preparation tournaments for nationals, regionals and finals. “Fly Me” is the perfect occasion to test your plays and tactics.

Being a 3 days tournament, with 16 teams, and 1 hour games, there is now a new long format mixed tournament, along with G-Spot, Windmill and Talampaya, right in the heart of Europe!

So now, how and when do I register my team?

Registration will be open on 3 February 2020. We encourage you to subscribe to our newsletter below, so you’ll be the first to know when it actually opens. We’ll also send you regular updates, some exclusive content and many more surprises ;-)

In the meantime, relive last year’s edition by watching the after-movie !
